Course description
Delegation and Feedback That Inspires Growth and Engagement
There is an intimate relationship between successful delegation and high-impact feedback. Delegating is not about assigning tasks to others only when you don’t have time to do them or dumping work you’d rather not do. Effective delegating involves analysis and planning, and it begins with the intent to help someone develop and grow. Giving constructive, engaged feedback once the delegated work has been completed is a critical piece of the learning journey.
In this highly interactive course we will explore common misperceptions about delegation, shedding light on what truly makes it “hard.” We’ll examine the connection between delegation and responsibility, how to choose what to delegate and to whom, and we’ll practice using a six-step method to plan and make a delegation. We will also take a look at the components of engaged feedback and ways to use feedback to create transformative change. We’ll explore several different feedback models and leverage them in a real-life feedback scenario.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for anyone who leads or manages individuals or teams and who would like to increase their effectiveness around delegating to others and giving them feedback on their performance.
