Course description

This accelerated Leadership Program is a four-day leadership development program for middle managers. Middle Managers are crucial to every organization because they bridge the gap between upper-level leaders and frontline employees. They are responsible for keeping everyone on track with their assignments and projects, leading their staff, and inspiring them to do their best. Middle managers have a unique function inside a company, which requires exceptional leadership, motivation, problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.  

This accelerated leadership program focuses on helping participants develop into more successful middle managers by strengthening their leadership skills. This includes current middle managers or those aspiring to take on a middle management role. This is an excellent program for middle managers who work as professionals in various organizational divisions, including but not limited to human resources, customer service, finance, sales, and other related fields.

In this program, you will learn about unconscious bias, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and critical thinking. Through instructor-led interactive sessions, practical exercises, case studies, and group discussions, you will be equipped with skills for leading your team effectively and making thoughtful and substantial decisions. After completing this program, participants can confidently embrace new challenges and use their leadership abilities in various situations.

Program Outline

Session 1: Effectively Managing Change

This session will teach you how to manage change effectively in the workplace. We will explore the factors contributing to the challenge of change and examine individuals’ reactions when confronted with substantial changes in their working conditions or surrounding environment. You will leave this session with an excellent grasp of how to handle change in the workplace. You will be ready to put these skills into practice and successfully lead your organization through periods of transition.

  • Obtain a more in-depth understanding of the idea of change.
  • Acquire the ability to recognize common responses to change.
  • Gain an understanding of how to devise strategies for overcoming resistance.
  • Discover how to successfully create an action plan for positive change in your workplace, both for yourself and your team.

Session 2: Addressing, Identifying, and Reducing Unconscious Biases

During this session, you will learn about the many biases that may occur unconsciously and their impact on the workplace. We’ll examine why identifying and understanding biases is crucial to creating an equal, inclusive culture. Throughout the session, we will provide a space for participants to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and collaborate on solutions. You will leave this session with the skills to recognize unconscious prejudice in yourself and others and understand the challenges it can cause in the workplace.

  • Define unconscious bias and understand the various forms it can take.
  • Identify common biases in the workplace and how they may impact interactions with others.
  • Understand effective strategies for reducing unconscious bias, such as increasing awareness and implementing policies to promote fairness and inclusion.
  • Gain practical skills and tools for increasing self-awareness, becoming more mindful of one’s biases, and shifting behaviors to promote inclusion.
  • Connect with other professionals, exchange ideas, thoughts, and experiences, and work together to solve unconscious workplace biases.

Session 3: Emotional Intelligence

In this session, you’ll learn the skills and knowledge you need to use emotional intelligence in the workplace. You will learn practical strategies for recognizing, understanding, and responding to emotions. By the end of this session, you will have the skills and knowledge you need to build strong relationships with coworkers and make good decisions when faced with challenges.

  • Learn techniques for understanding and applying emotional intelligence in the workplace.
  • Gain and understand the different types of emotions and how to manage them.
  • Understand the difference between being optimistic and being pessimistic.

Session 4: The Critical Thinking Process

The session will guide you through each stage of the critical thinking process. You will learn to recognize, analyze, and evaluate information to make well-reasoned decisions. You will be taught to apply critical thinking to real-life circumstances, enabling you to think more precisely, thoroughly, and strategically. By the end of this session, you will better understand how to use the critical thinking process in the workplace.

  • Acquire a comprehension of the idea of critical thinking.
  • Gain an understanding of the distinction between critical thinking and non-critical thinking.
  • Acquire an understanding of the model of critical thinking and its numerous phases.
  • Learn how to get to the root of problems.
  • Uncover how to identify and clarify problems and arguments.

Course delivery details

Our courses are designed for groups of five or more participants and are delivered remotely. Each course can be customized by learning objectives and the duration of the course. We strive for a high-quality learning experience in our virtual sessions, so we use a variety of interactive activities, such as group discussions, polls, and breakout sessions. Each session is designed to be engaging and interactive, allowing participants to learn new concepts and skills online.
