Course description

Advanced Leadership Skills and Principles

Advanced Leadership Skills and Principles lays the foundation for life-long learning and improvement as a leader. It examines the role of a leader as a:

  • team-builder
  • motivator
  • strategic thinker
  • cultural change agent
  • and communicator

Advance Leadership Skills and Principles assumes that participants already possess a general grasp of basic leadership principles, similar to what we cover in our training course on The Essentials of Being a Leader.

The course builds on the perspective that a leader's success eventually depends on two capabilities: people skills and communication skills. Every module in the course centers on one or both of these skillsets.

Instructor

Dr. Mike Armour, the founder and managing principal of Strategic Leadership Development International (SLDI) conducts this training. He has presented this material in dozens of settings on four continents.

Customization

Strategic Leadership Development International gladly adapts the content of the course to meet the client's unique needs. Course delivery details

Offered Virtually, Remotely, or In Person

This content of this course is presented in a setting of dialogue and open interaction between the instructor and the participants and among the participants themselves. Breakout sessions and class discussion are frequent throughout the training.

This level of interaction is best accommodated by face-to-face instruction in a group setting. We can teach the course effectively, however, by way of a teleconference or as a virtual training.

Student Materials

The presentation of each topic is supported by extensive use of projected graphics. The participants receive detailed notebooks which contain these graphics and a substantive summary of vital course content. This allows participants to focus on the presentation itself without feeling a need to take extensive notes.

The course is designed as a one-day offering which can easily expand into a multi-day course by supplementing each topic with additional material. A slightly revised version of this course is ideal for corporate or team retreats.
