Course description

There are key components that should be part of any successful front-line supervisory training program. The first covers core social and office skills to help interact with people and work on a computer. The second covers supervisory standard work, which now moves closer to the work floor in areas such as executing the production plan and putting in place proper routines for the work day. Finally, the third area covers basic problem solving skills, whether related to work issues or incident investigations.

Supervisory Standard Work
- Management Operating System (MOS) including Visual Controls, Leadership Standard Work and Layered Reviews.
- Operational Performance Management (OPM) including start of shift Huddles, shift performance / Gemba walks and End of shift Hand-Over
Basic Problem Solving
- Plan Do Check Act
- Brainstorming, 5 Why’s and Fishbone
- Pareto, Value Added and Waste
- Standard Work
- Proper Incident Investigation and Mistake Proofing
- Root Cause Analysis
