What is Microsoft SQL Server? Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system, or RDBMS, that supports a wide variety of transaction processing, business intelligence and analytics applications in corporate IT environments. It's one of the three market-leading database technologies, along with Oracle Database and IBM's DB2. SQL Server Integration Services is a platform for data integration and workflow applications. It features a data warehousing tool used for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). The tool may also be used to automate maintenance of SQL Server databases and updates to multidimensional cube data. You will learn the basics about the development tools and what they are capable of, clear instruction on how to handle various issues that you might face when designing your packages and how to overcome them. By the end of this course you will understand many basic concepts and how to perform data integration and transformation.
