Brainstorming Skills - 1-Day Workshop
Despite what you may have heard, brainstorming - done well! - continues to be a great way to generate a lot of ideas, which is the only way to get good ideas. In addition, brainstorming is a great way to get a team unstuck, to collaborate with colleagues, and to reach across departments and break down silos.
This one-day brainstorming workshop will give participants direct experience applying the rules, tips, tricks, and sage advice for running effective brainstorms. How many should attend, and who? What kind of room and how can we set it up for success? Who will run it, and who will capture and synthesize the results? What's the proper way to frame a brainstorm challenge, and what can you do to ensure a good turnout and a fruitful session?
Running through a series of live brainstorming exercises, attendees will work in teams as both facilitators and participants, to see how each role complements the other. Led by a senior Innovationship partner, with decades of experience in leading brainstorms and teaching brainstorming, everyone will leave with a greater understand why, when and how to run an effective, creative, and fun brainstorm.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Design, set up, and facilitate an effective and productive brainstorming session
- Synthesize the output of a brainstorming session to mine value and provide direction for next steps
- Teach others the rules and proper conduct that make a brainstorming session productive
- Inspire others to learn how to use brainstorming effectively
