What is Windows Server Training?
Windows Server is a brand name for a group of server operating systems designed by Microsoft. It provides server-oriented services and supports enterprise-level management, data storage, applications and communications.
Originally released under a different name in 1993, Windows has led the way in the market and come a long way changing with the times. Learn how Windows Server can work for you today.
Windows Server Training Courses
We have a wide range of courses to compare, whether you are new to the field and need some introductory training, or you have more experience. Some courses also serve as prerequisite training before beginning qualifications such as the Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) training and certification path.
In an introductory Windows Server training course, you might cover topics including:
- Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
- Implementing Storage in Windows Server
- Implementing TCP/IP
- Implementing Windows Server Security
- Monitoring Server Performances
These types of courses would generally be of interest to home computer users, small business owners, academic students, information workers, developers, technical managers, help desk technicians or students who are looking to cross train from an alternative technology.
Other Windows Server training courses cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Describing an enterprise data center
- Planning and implementing the network and storage infrastructure required to deploy a virtualized server infrastructure
- Planning and deploying virtual machines on Windows Hyper-V®
- Planning and implementing a PKI deployment
- Planning and implementing a certificate management solution
Courses such as these presume a high level of prior knowledge about previous Windows Server technologies. Prerequisites for all courses therefore vary and should be checked carefully before applying.
Certification
For those who seek it, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification is also available. It’s Microsoft’s introductory level certification for IT professionals who work with Microsoft products, and the first step towards attaining the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) and MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) certifications.
