Course description

In Nitrogen Oxides - Abatement and Control , you'll learn ...
- Where NOx comes from and how it affects the environment
- The relative merits of various external and internal combustion NOx limiting technologies
- The difference between pollution prevention and NOx controls
Overview
Credit: 3 PDH
Length: 36 pages
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are a very important family of air polluting chemical compounds. This course explains why NOx are important air pollutants and how NOx are formed and react in the atmosphere. This course also includes the principles on which all NOx control and pollution prevention technologies are based, available NOx technologies for various combustion sources, and performance of different NOx technologies.
In this course the student will learn of the various control strategies and be able to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each as they apply to combustion sources and fuel types. The course will be beneficial for a student with basic knowledge of EPA air pollution regulations and an interest in controlling NOx emissions from combustion sources. It is also an excellent overview for those professionals working in the field of air pollution control.
