Essentials of Project Management

What is Project Management? Project management is the use of specific knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to deliver something of value to people. We are all project managers on a regular basis. Sometimes this happens in our workplace; often it is at home while planning a remodel, starting a new side business or in community service. At the end of this overview course, participants will grasp the way projects begin and flow (Initiation, Planning & Executing), and how to anticipate and address potential weaknesses and challenges (Monitoring and Controlling). Participants gain an understanding of the project management process and learn approaches to achieve successful project performance. This course is not a component of the Project Management Institute (PMI) certification program, but it will review the two primary PMI certifications and their respective requirements.
