Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP)®

Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP)®

Executive compensation is the most complex and dynamic field in Total Rewards and to be successful it requires a broad and deep understanding of strategy, plan design, administration and evaluation of executive compensation plans.

Possessing the Certified Executive Compensation Professional designation gives you an edge in today’s competitive world. Certification signifies that you are an expert in your field. It gives you, and your employer, confidence in your job skills. As a leader, it demonstrates that you have the knowledge, experience and critical skills needed to design and manage programs that attract, motivate and retain dynamic executives and leaders who have the ability to provide positive business results and organizational strategies.

This designation is intended for professionals involved in multiple aspects of executive compensation.  WorldatWork Society recognizes that expertise in executive compensation comes from a broad variety of experience and education.  As a competency-based designation, the WorldatWork Society recommends CECP candidates have three or more years of experience.

Am I Eligible to Become a CECP®?

The CECP certification is achieved by passing one comprehensive exam based on what is recognized as the Executive Compensation Body of Knowledge. All candidates, regardless of experience, should review the following four steps.

  1. Review the CECP Body of Knowledge (BOK)
  2. Supplement Your Knowledge
  3. Take the Practice Exam
  4. Register for the CECP Exam

What Are the Next Steps?

Review the areas of eligibility above and ensure that you have met all prerequisites for the CECP® exam. If you do not meet all of these requirements you can either continue your studies and experience to work up to the CECP® requirements or you can look at one of the other HR certifications that WorldatWork has to offer.

Retaining the CECP® Certification

Upon successful completion and passing of the CECP® exam, all professionals must remain active to keep their designation.
