The Associate Safety and Health Manager (ASHM) designation is offered through the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM), an industry-recognized certification body for health, safety, and environmental (HSE) professionals. The ASHM credential is an immediate qualification for recent graduates of ABET/Board Approved programs. This credential adds value to your professional health and safety title and career without having to prepare and sit for an exam. Further, the ASHM designation serves as a practical and professional stepping stone to the Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) certification.

Young HSE professionals can put their HSE management career on the fast-track through earning this ASHM designation. Further, there is no application fee for those graduates who have applied for the ASHM designation within six months of their graduation. The ideal audience for this designation is those individuals with little to no professional training or experience within the health and safety field. Once professionals receive the ASHM designation, they have six years to complete and pass the CSHM exam.
