Credit: 1 PDH
Length: 27 pages
This course covers the requirements for machinery emergency stops, primarily in the packaging and product handling industries. The course identifies applicable standards which may be applied to the design of E-stops, with particular emphasis on the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machines (Copyright© 2011).
The purpose of this course is not to assess the risk or the safety of E-stop designs for machinery, but rather how to determine applicable approaches to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
