How is executive education different from other courses not called executive education that an executive might take? Is it specially accredited? Taught at a higher level?

Executive education is taught at a graduate level - so you'll be expected to have at least a bachelors degree. The length is really variable - it might be a few days or a year part-time but they offer flexible options because the universities that offer them are aware that you work.

Executive education is offered by universities so they're more expensive but look better on your resume.

Agreed - they're more theoretical and less practical than typical courses. Exec Ed is all about resume building.
