My experience with Foundations of Leadership has actually been very positive. I can’t say that there is that many all-day trainings that I’ve been to where the time flies, but it truly did in this case. The exercises were engaging the people I was working with were interesting and it made for a very lively day where the time flew by.

I am not currently a manager, but I am looking to possibly move toward that role in the next few years, and so this is a good way to get my feet wet with some skill building, a chance to polish up on some things that are useful for me and really position me to grow into that role for my organization.

For a lot of adult learners, you have to get your hands in the mud you have to practice with something before it really becomes integrated in to your habits. I’ve been to conferences where it’s an interesting experience and then you go back to reality and you implement only a fraction of what you might of done.  The thing that really drew me to this course was that so many people based on their research appear to be applying it three months, six months afterwards. And so that follow-up and reinforcement I think is an important piece of applying what you are exposed to here and making it a real part of your practice.

I would recommend the program to other people. I’m a facilitator myself and so I certainly respect the skill that is involved in coordinating a program like this and the facilitator was excellent.
