Chain Reaction 1.0
This highly interactive business simulation encourages participants to work together to solve challenges within their small teams, as well as within the larger overall group. Each small team of people works in an area adjacent to the working areas of other teams. Groups use limited supplies to construct a device that will safely transport a number of marbles with each team’s section of track interfacing with those before and after it. Challenges are included to reinforce the theme of uncertainty and how best to communicate and negotiate with others, distribution of resources and big-picture thinking. It is a great activity for large groups. This activity replicates a number of situations you may find on your team and is a great activity to debrief around your specific missions and challenges. Topics like silos, interdepartmental communication, keeping the focus on the greater goal and starting a project at the connection points are all points of emphasis of this event.
While this team building program will include a very robust debrief, it is by no means your typical, boring business simulation. The participants will have to use their creativity and engineering skills to create a giant, life-size marble track. The finale, rolling the marbles down the track and (hopefully) getting all the way to the end, is exhilarating for the group. Whether the team finds success or failure, the takeaways for your team will be long-lasting. Optional debrief with the group follows.
