Pearl Harbor is the greatest intelligence failure in U.S. history. Various agencies had bits of information indicating that an attack was imminent, yet failed to collaborate with each other. This case study encourages participants to think about their own organizational alignment and avoid a “Pearl Harbor” situation. This case study concludes with a trip to the USS Arizona Memorial,

“A Pinprick to the Heart”: Resource Allocation Based

This case study is based on the famous Doolittle raid on Tokyo, the United States’ response to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It looks at how organizations allocate resources to achieve maximum effect. The program includes a trip to the Pacific Aviation Museum on Ford Island.

“Missing the Boat”: Recognizing and Seizing Opportunity

The attack on Pearl Harbor yielded disappointing long-term results for Japan partially because their airplanes missed the boats they had targeted. The case study focuses on how organizations can recognize and seize opportunities. The program includes a helicopter ride over Pearl Harbor.
