Progress Measurement

This skill module introduces fundamental aspects of progress measurement for shale development projects. Five methods used to assess design engineering and field construction progress are covered. The concept of earned value analysis is introduced along with pros and cons of EVA use on shale development projects.

Who should attend?

Early career project managers, leads, engineers, and services personnel who are on field development project teams. This includes operations and facility reps, cost and schedule controllers, and buyers and logistics specialists. This course is also for the business, finance and land reps as well as other non-engineers who would benefit from an overview of oil and gas project and programs.

  • How to describe the different approaches used to measure project progress and give examples of their use
  • The concept of earned value and how it is used to determine schedule and cost variance
  • How to estimate the final cost of a project given the project budget, earned value and actual costs to date
