A Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is a technique that focuses on the hazards inherent in some job tasks, before the job begins. The goal is to identify risks sooner rather than after-the-fact.
Development of a JHA is a multi-step process that breaks down any job into a series of tasks. The hazards associated with each task can then be identified and mitigated. The JHA is both a process and a product.
