Overview
This webinar explains geotechnical subsurface investigations and construction materials testing, which are part of most real estate development projects. You will learn the types of equipment used most often to perform soil borings, as well as how to determine how deep your soil borings should be and which field and laboratory tests to perform. We will also discuss basic foundation design options and design considerations.
In the second half of the webinar, we will discuss construction materials testing (CMT). CMT provides third party independent quality assurance during construction and is often used to meet the “Special Inspection” requirements outlined in various building codes. You will learn the methods and sequence of testing and inspection for a typical development project, from mass earthwork to foundations, concrete placement, structural steel, masonry, and asphalt.
