Course description
Ethics for CPAs: Recent Developments and Practical Approaches
Get up to speed on the heightened focus by government regulators of the ethical practices of accounting professionals. Learn about some of the latest changes in professional standards related to auditor independence rules and interpretations, including SEC and PCAOB rules and regulations, the AICPA’s Code of Professional Conduct, and the United States General Accounting Office and Yellow Book. The second part of this topic will focus on practical considerations associated with ethical behavior, including exploring behavioral “warning signs” that drive the “slippery slope” of engaging in unethical behavior. We will also introduce a decision making framework which you can use to analyze and solve ethical dilemmas.
