Course description

Certificate in Shale Gas
Shale gas is a very hot topic right now; the global shale gas market production is expected to grow from 5,563 billion cubic feet in 2016 to 800 billion cubic feet in 2024 at CAGR of 4.7% for the same period.
Natural gas production, already at new highs thanks to shale gas, is expected to grow 44% in the U.S. between 2011 and 2044. (EIA)
Now countries around the world, including China and South Africa, are eyeing shale development as a new way to tap into their resources. However, this comes at a cost – and some countries are looking at not developing shale gas. This course looks at the market, how it’s developed, as well as the environmental concerns.
