Course description

Certificate in Oil Spill Response
When ships spill oil, it is vitally urgent that its crew understand how to deal with oil spills quickly and correctly. This course has been designed to teach students how to assess risks, how to be safe in a chemical clean up and in the working environment, and how to decontaminate.
The IMO recognises it as an important issue and this course is based on the OPRC Convention making it essential for first-line responders in the oil and offshore industry, including tanker crews.
This course will deal with essential safety when attending to oil spills and the Participants must fully understand the safety precautions of oil and chemical spills in the marine and coastal environments and how to protect themselves prior to attending such spills.
