Course description

Lean Six Sigma: Green Belt to Black Belt

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be certified as Lean Six Sigma Black Belts. Black Belts are trained experts in Lean, Six Sigma and statistical process control techniques. The LSS Black Belt course teaches the effective use of DMAIC principles needed to improve business processes as well as Lean tools to reduce waste and increase productivity. Participants will gain the necessary tools to lead cross-functional project teams through implementation. This course uses MINITAB statistical software for all project calculations. The course uses MINITAB statistical software for all project calculations; participants should bring their own laptops to download the provided software.

Who should attend?

This is a blended-learning course, which means part of the training is done online and part is done in-person at a campus location. Your online access information will be sent to you via email on the start date of the class, which is two weeks before the first in-person training session.

Participants are required to complete all assigned course modules and utilize project coaching hours within 30 days after the last classroom section. Exam completion and course projects must be accomplished within 60 days of last classroom session.

Training content

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Ability to plan and execute LSS projects under the direction of a project sponsor
  • Identify opportunities; establish and justify projects
  • Organize project teams and lead team activities
  • Interpret statistical data results and effectively communicate impact to management and project team
  • Organize and direct the preparation, presentation and evaluation of milestone reviews
  • Ensure projects are integrated with other organizational activities and the overall mission and strategic objectives

Costs

The cost of this training course includes all course materials and a subject matter expert instructor

Certification / Credits

Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Competion with CEUs
