SAM Certification Program
Targeted at the IT Professional, the BSA Verafirm SAM Certification provides a comprehensive framework for implementing Software Asset Management (SAM) regardless of the size of the organization.
Developed in partnership with industry leaders, this course is based on the latest edition of the ISO/IEC 19770-1 Standard - IT Asset Management Systems – Requirements (ITAM Standard) established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The 12-hour course is divided into two parts.
- Part I introduces and provides in-depth training on how to set up a management system for SAM based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology.
- Part II is presented in three progressive tiers and provides detailed information on implementing the 15 key operational processes recommended by ISO.
The course not only teaches how to build ISO-compliant Software Asset Management systems, but also addresses contemporary issues such as GDPR and cloud migration. Once students complete Part II they may proceed to the certification assessment which is included as part of this course. Students who successfully complete the assessment are immediately awarded the BSA Verafirm SAM Professional Certification, which includes a digital badge that can be displayed on on-line profiles such as LinkedIn.
