Developing a Mentoring Program - 4.5 hour online training by ATD
This interactive learning program designed by ATD examines the components needed to build and implement an impactful mentoring program.
The first session defines mentoring in contrast with the coaching discipline. You’ll look at how to prepare for a successful mentoring initiative in partnership with your organization's leadership. The course will help you establish a business case, and identify performance outcomes.
The second session will help you make decisions around mentor/mentee matching, designing mentoring agreements, and setting time frames. During the session, you'll have the opportunity to continue work on your mentoring program project plans, which will include a detailed structure, program notes, and initial content that will be further developed.
The final session explores the most effective tasks for preparing mentors and measuring impact. You will learn how to cultivate effective mentors, as well as develop key measures of success for your programs.
Who should attend?
This program is aimed at L&D professionals who are new to building and implementing mentoring programs. Experience as a mentor or mentee is a benefit, but not required.
This course is also beneficial to learning and development professionals with experience in mentoring who would like to refresh some foundational skills.
