8-Week Online CWI Seminar
The 8-Week Online CWI Seminar is designed to prepare students for all three parts of the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) exam from the comfort of their own homes. The structure of the online seminar is similar to the traditional in-person CWI seminar, but is conducted in the form of interactive, two-hour online sessions hosted by an AWS instructor. Registered students are provided with everything they need to make the most out of the 8-week period, including AWS reference materials, study guides, the D1.1 code book (if applicable), and practice tests, In order to effectively tackle the practical (Part B) portion of the seminar, students are also provided with a set of inspection tools (to keep!) and plastic weld replicas (must be returned to AWS). This allows each student to actively participate during class and get comfortable making measurements and performing visual inspection. Each individual class session is recorded, allowing students to watch segments of the seminar they may have missed or simply want to revisit while studying. Upon registering, students are granted access to online resources, such as practice questions, Part B exercises, and online video code clinics. All online seminar content remains available for students to access up to one month after the conclusion of the seminar.
Note: Due to the unique nature of the 8-Week Online CWI Seminar, it is only available to students within the United States at this time. We regret this limitation, and hope to expand the program to international students in the near future.
Who should attend?
This CWI Seminar provides a comprehensive review of the extensive body of knowledge covered in the AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Exam. The seminar is not designed to teach individuals how to become welding inspectors. Participants should already be familiar with the most commonly used welding processes, welding symbols, WPSs and PQRs, inspection tools and code books.
