Course description
In this course, you will learn about the role of production and operation management in an organization, as well as the phases of product design development, and time span for forecasting. The use of exponential forecasting models to calculate seasonality, regression analysis, as well as the stock points in a production-distribution system will also be covered in this course. Furthermore, you will learn about the basic inventory model. Then, the course will teach you about the requirements for effective inventory management, as well as material requirements planning (MRP), and the concept of aggregate planning.
Then, this course will also teach you about the techniques for aggregate planning, as well as the mathematical techniques for obtaining optimal solutions. Production planning problems using linear programming, as well as the dimensions of product quality, and the evolution of quality management will also be covered in this course. As a learner, this course will then teach you about the concept of total quality management, the quality tools that aid data collection and interpretation, as well as the implementation of acceptance sampling.
Learners can also gain an understanding of the six sigma components, the various ways for designing product layouts, and the main tools in project management. Lastly, you will learn about performing network analysis using program evaluation and review technique (PERT) as well as the critical path method (CPM) and the use of various probabilistic times estimates. Begin this course now to learn about the maintenance and life cycle of equipment, as well as the future direction of production and operations management.
