Course description

This course, CompTIA A+ 1000 - Part 2, will provide you with an understanding of the software you will deal with as a PC Service Specialist. You will learn about troubleshooting procedures and preventive maintenance. You will be able to explain the various preventive maintenance tasks, tools, and common issues. You will also learn about what preventive maintenance does and why it's important.

This course then explains the operating systems you are likely to encounter as a PC Service Specialist. You will learn about the three major operating systems; Windows, Linux, and Mac. This course will cover operating system functions, such as managing hardware, managing resources, managing data, and making user interaction easy through the use of a graphical user interface. You will also learn about the differences between the major operating systems and the applications they can run.

This course then wraps up discussing how to manage files, common executable file extensions, common application file extensions, common compression file extensions, common system file extensions, file attributes, and command prompts.
