AGRICOLLEGES is a modern cloud-based e-learning institution, using world-class technology as a platform to address the agricultural education gap in Africa and beyond, by providing students with affordable, accessible, and industry-relevant education and training in the fields of agriculture and related agri-industries. Students learn independently through the online tool as well as collaborate with and learn from each other. Students do remote practical assignments at home, filming and recording their work with a mobile device and uploading the evidence on the Learning Management System.
Providing communities with the technology to study agriculture will greatly improve the prospect of producing resilient and nutritious food. Upon completing the AGRICOLLEGES coursework, students will be equipped with the skillsets and knowledge to make them more employable and become “agripreneurs”.
AGRICOLLEGES tackles the challenge from within the communities and alongside the communities in order for them to become self-sustainable and ultimately strengthening the agricultural sector of their economies. Further to our core business, being our course offering, we collaborate with various local and international organisations on community projects to empower rural communities. We do this by transferring knowledge to the community members on self-sustainability through agri-activities.
Agricolleges currently offers 14 courses of which 3 are Introductory short courses, 5are Fundamentals short courses, two One-Year National Certificates (NQF4) – one in General Agriculture and the other in Plant Production, as well as 4 Citrus courses from a series of 7 Citrus short courses.
